This Will Get Better // Chapter 1
Chapter One: Arrival on the Isle of Armor It had been a long day full of travel. Our first stop had been our arrival at Wyndon in the Galar region late last night. We stayed at one of its hotels, The Rose of the Rondelands. We took the train the next morning down to the coastal town of Hulbury. A fresh sea breeze had greeted us when we stepped off to stretch our legs, taking the time between our train and our Corviknight Taxi to sight-see for a bit. Walking around for the first time that day felt nice, and my Pikachu was the most excited to run around for a bit, after being stuck in the train for a few hours. When I saw the boats at the dock, I couldn't help but wonder why there were none available to the Isle of Armor. I asked our driver about it, and he shook his head, laughing softly. Apparently it was much faster to fly by taxi. That said, it was somewhat cramped inside the Corviknight Taxi. Although it was only me, my Pikachu, my husband, and our travel bags, I couldn't help but
My thumb pushed up on my phone screen. I stood there, scrolling on my phone trying to desperately to distract myself. A heavy, exhausted sigh escaped my lips. I’m not sure how long I had been standing there like that, a growing frown on my face as nothing on my phone was helping my mood any better than if I hadn’t opened it. I felt a sudden weight on my head; it was gentle and strong. ? I turned to see who it was. Not many were allowed close to me, out of personal preference, so for someone to make contact with me first without awareness… ! “Hey.” He stepped closer to me; his hand moved from the top of my head to my shoulder. “Everything okay?” “Mmm… Yeah,” I said, softening a little at his touch. Even though things had sucked lately, there was little that could keep me in a sulking or bad mood whenever he was around. I leaned into him, resting a little as he put his arm around me. I’m not sure why it always surprises me still, or catches me off guard, but there was this gentle kiss on
10. Kiss in the rain ———- The rain always made you happy. So even though you two had been walking through it until you could find a dry spot to wait it out, you still couldn’t contain the smile. The cool air, the calm, steady pace of the rain… Sure, it could make others feel melancholic, but for you, you enjoyed it. You looked at your beloved, who had gotten a few steps ahead of you, and you ran to catch up, linking an arm around his. Both of your umbrellas knocked together, getting some drops of water on both of you. “Hey!” he said with a laugh. You grinned at him, your umbrellas knocking together until you both had them covering the two of you. Though there was a destination in mind, the soothing, peaceful rain made you wish the two of you could be like this forever. “Oh, let’s go over there!” you said, pointing the direction with a nudge of your umbrella under his. You had pointed at a little bookstore that had outdoor seating, none of which was in use right now. “Hm? A bookstore?
It had been a long day at work; you had left before the sun came up, and returned well after it had went down. You slugged off your bag for the day and began to unload whatever you didn’t need to carry throughout the house– keys, jacket, hat, any other bags that you had carried with you or gotten on the way home. Your headphones were the last thing off. You saw a head poke around the corner, double-checking who it was that had arrived. “Welcome home!” he greeted, as you let out a huge, exasperated groan. He look one long look at you as you walked past him to the kitchen, where you quietly put some groceries down on the counter. “Bad day?” “Not unlike any other,” you mutter, trying to slug off thoughts of work like you had thrown off everything else you had taken with you. It had been more of the same, but the same drained you all the same. He frowned a little at your response, which made you feel sheepish. You looked away into the kitchen to notice that he had been cooking. Curious
